A picture of the owner Tully

I am an outdoor person. I always have been. If I was not outside riding my bike or playing sports, I was making forts in the trees or glue from yew berries for crafts. As far back as I can remember, I was always outside in the fresh air. My parents struggled to get me to come indoors to go to bed, most nights preferring to sleep in the the canvas tent that was perpetually popped up in the backyard. I used to help my parents in the flower and vegetable gardens, reaping the rewards of our labor mostly in secret. As I got older, I continued to garden, working in greenhouses and nurseries, as well as landscaping all four properties we owned. I even held a position here in Nova Scotia, as the Retail Operations Manager for the province's largest nursery. I will also confess I have an obsession with indoor plants.

I love kayaking and stand up paddleboarding. I love to camp. I love cooking in nature, bird watching or even something as simple as listening to the waves roll in. For me there is nothing like a good campfire and stargazing. Back in Ontario, I co owned a kayak shop where I could use my skillset while enjoying life outside. I was in my happy place . My background however was being a Certified Athletic Therapist for 23 years, enjoying work both on the field and in clinic.

I am super creative. I have always been a hands on person. I love nothing more then to have an idea and see it come to fruition. There is something so gratifying about that. From photography, to arranging flowers, from interior design, to retail merchandising, I have done a little of everything in between. One of my favorite things was building custom artisan farmhouse tables. I made many family gatherings a better place to be.

I love to cook, and always from scratch too. I grew up enjoying homecooked meals and often shared in the preparation. Today I also make my own sourdough bread, I sprout microgreens, and have also in the past brewed Kombucha as well as beer and wine. But the way to my heart though, is PIZZA. 💕

I LOVE to travel. This is a big understatement. How awesome is it to discover something new, to wake up with or without an itinerary to explore,  to try new things, to eat different foods and speak a different language, or laugh at yourself for trying. It is eye opening to see how others live and some circumstances certainly humble you. I always leave a trip wanting more and feel more grateful about my life.

Music is a massive part of my life. Although I do not play an instrument nor can I sing, or so I have been told, I can appreciate great music and songwriting. I always make it a point to see live music, loving more obscure talent and small venues. Those shows are always intimate and personal. I like most music, but my favorite genres are Indie, Alternative and Folk.

I am an animal lover. All my life I have had pets, my favorite of course being my dogs. My Aussies will always have a special place in my heart. When I spend time outdoors, I will always stop to watch a deer casually eating, help a turtle cross the street safely or try to capture a photo of an elusive butterfly. Always.

I love the water. I love the ocean more than I love lakes. I love being on the water in my kayak or on my SUP, but I also love being below the waterline too. I love to snorkel and I scuba dive. I have swum with manta rays and whale sharks, seen spotted eagle rays, turtles, puffer fish, barracuda and trumpet fish to name a few. My dream is to dive Raja Amprat or Roatan.

I am a textbook Cancer. I am emotional, creative, intuitive and  motherly. True to the crab, I have a hard exterior, but in my shell I am a softie, a pushover, somewhat naive and although my friends would say otherwise, an introvert. I am a contradiction. I am a homebody at heart, but I always want to be out exploring. I am a sun lover, always chasing the sun in life. I live and love by the moon, bright some days, and dark in shadow on others. I am forever a work in progress on a path to find my authentic higher self. I am love and seek to embody love.

I am a SURVIVOR. Twice. A warrior, a sister. I have a tribe.
In 2012, I was diagnosed and treated for Papillary Carcinoma. In 2016, I was diagnosed with Stage 3a Lobular breast cancer. At forty four, I underwent a radical double mastectomy and had immediate DIEP reconstruction. Chemotherapy and radiation sucked a lot of life out of me. In the end, I reframed my situation and rather than looking at it with pity and sadness, I choose to see it as an opportunity for growth, introspection and development. I began to write and have now authored but not published, 2 books, memoirs of my experience. Maybe I will one day revisit them.

If you have already read through these fun facts about me, then thank you for doing so. I am forever grateful you took time out of your precious day to learn about me. I hope that you see something in my collection that you love, and that should you purchase, your wear it with pride on your beautiful self.

Gracias 🙌
